Current Projects

Random Day In May was a project established by Tommy’s Mom. She knew how sad it always made Tommy to see children going through cancer treatments. She also knew how many great organizations do toy drives during the winter holidays. The Tommy Savino Foundation wanted to do something different. It’s unfortunate when children are in the hospital when the weather is changing, so we wanted to find a way to help brighten their days and make them smile. This past May 2025, we had our first ever Random Day In May. We were lucky to be able to donate 120 toys to children at Joesph Sanzari Children’s Hospital in Hackensack, NJ. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who donated and can’t wait to make this a yearly tradition.

Inspired by Tommy’s stem cell transplant. Bear Hugs In A Bag will be a care package given to those before they start their stem cell transplant journey. It will feature a bag of items to keep them comfortable, entertained, and making the room feel warmer and that someone is rooting for them during a long process.

Bear Hugs In A Bag

A simple, low-cost initiative designed to provide immediate emotional relief and a positive distraction for pediatric patients as well as their siblings and children whose parents have been brought into the hospital. The resource will be dedicated, secure cabinet, and or closet stocked with a variety of toys.
