About
The Tommy Savino Foundation was established in memory of Tommy Savino. Tommy was born and raised in Pequannock, NJ. Tommy was the son of Trish and Tom and big brother to Kristi. He played multiple sports growing up but his favorite was hockey. As a big sports fan, he supported the New Jersey Devils, New York Mets, New York Jets, Rutgers Football and Basketball and after his move to Boston the Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. Tommy always surrounded himself with the best people remaining his same friend group from elementary school/middle school to his adult years. He spent many summers at Floyd Hall Arena where he met a lot of his best friends. He went to Pequannock Township High School where he played ice hockey and golf. Tommy attended Montclair State University and played for the hockey team. He later transferred to Rutgers University where he played for the hockey and graduated from in 2017. Tommy loved to have a good time and be around his favorite people and he loved going to country concerts.
In 2016, Tommy was diagnosed with a rare form of Lymphoma. He never let it slow him down. He graduated from Rutgers. He was a referee and a coach. He went to see his favorite country artists and sporting events. He went through a stem cell transplant with The National Marrow Program (formerly Be The Match) in 2019 from a generous donor who Tommy became friends with.
Tommy’s determination and strength followed every dream he encountered. In 2020, Tommy’s dreams took him to a new city Boston to work for his dream company Draft Kings. He loved the people he met there and the city.
In December 2021, Tommy passed away due to his long battle with an aggressive form of lymphoma. His strength, courage, determination, and his love of telling jokes that made himself laugh is remembered every single day by those who loved him and hear his story.
